Powerful Gatherings

When we gather as the church we want it to be more than music and muffins! We want to experience a powerful and transformative time together in God’s presence.

• Share stories and experiences of God moving in our lives
• Consider what the scriptures can teach us today
• Pray and worship together
• And yes, we may even eat muffins together!

Transformative Community Ministries

Our community ministries are based on supporting transformation. This means that we don’t want to simply engage in a transaction (i.e. give groceries) rather we want to help feed people while ALSO getting at the root issues of why they are experiencing food insecurity.

• Stand with people as they navigate their way through undesirable situations
• Advocate for people as they seek to access necessary resources to support themselves and their family
• Be a supportive friend to people so they know that they are seen, heard, valued and cared for

Missional Thrift Stores

Our Thrift Stores (Westbank and Rutland) exist to support our mission. Lots of people come to our Thrift Stores to find a good deal, but they often leave with more than that!

• Shoppers can find caring staff who remember their names
• Our staff can be found praying with customers, upon request
• Community members in need can access items for free by visiting one of our caseworkers

Children & Youth Ministries

We want to provide a safe place for authentic relationships to grow and where young people can come as they are and know they will be accepted. We don’t just want to run a good youth program, although we plan on the youth having a ton of fun!

The various youth groups will be based on ages and the experiences, questions and realities of each age group. We will provide opportunities for youth to:

• Grow in their relationship with God
• Become social advocates
• Have fun with others their age
• Develop mentoring relationships with caring and safe adults who have their back!

Intentional Small Groups

Our small groups is where real life happens. These groups, usually of less than 8 people, meet weekly to check-in with and encourage one another.

The groups will most often dive into a discussion about how they are experiencing God in their lives, responses they have to what was talked about the previous Sunday at The Gathering, and to help each other live into what they sense is most life-giving and God-honouring.
